Class Rep of the Year
As a representative body, the GSU is greatly dependant on its representatives. Class reps can be the first point of contact for students with the GSU. Class reps serve as a link between students and the Sabbatical Officers as well as the University structures. This award aims to reward a class representative who has done a remarkable work during his/her term.
· The candidate must be a member of the Union.
· The candidate must have been a class rep for the academic year.
Strictly speaking, the main task of the reps is to represent. However, some reps further their duties and enhance the learning experience of their peers.
The main criteria for this award are:
· The development of the rep duties representing and providing pastoral care. The candidate should have acted as a true liaison with the university bodies. Also, the candidate has developed initiatives which have benefits its classmates (i.e. social event, study group, etc).
· The impact of the class rep work. (i.e. Have your class rep positively impacted your experience in the University?).
Supporting documentation showing evidence of the initiative(s) and project(s) done for their classmates will be required. Supporting documentation may be anonymous quotes from people who attended/ benefited from the initiative (s), pictures, etc.
