Shane Collins | President 

Shane Collins is the President of the GSU. His role as President of the GSU is to stand and speak up for postgraduate students when key decisions are being made by College authorities that will directly impact the postgraduate community. 

He also is directly involved in working with external groups to improve postgraduate conditions nationally. It is often decisions taken at a national level that directly impact us, as Trinity postgraduates, and external responsibilities are a key part of his role.

He also is the director of GSU strategic initiatives and directly oversees the implementation of the Union’s annual and multi-year plans. The GSU has a number of strategic initiatives to pursue this coming year.

Madhav Bhargav | Vice President Madhav (Maddy) is the Vice President of the GSU and studied for his M.Sc in Applied Psychology in 2017. As an international student in Trinity, he understands the difficulties of studying in a foreign country, but also knows what a fantastic experience it can be. As your GSU Vice President, his main role is to act as your Education and Welfare Officer. This means that he is here to advise you on matters, and advocate on your behalf if you have issues, academic and/or personal. Siobán O'Brien Green | Equality and Diversity Officer Siobán O’Brien Green has worked in government agencies, the non-profit sector, on multi-country European Union research projects and in  research, policy and academic roles all of which has shaped her expertise in the areas of equality and diversity.  Siobán has experience of lobbying at both national and European levels of government and has worked on issues of education, migration, integration and social inclusion in a paid and volunteer capacity. Atiyekeogbebe Rita Douglas | HS Faculty Representative Rita is currently studying for an MSc in Healthcare Infection Management after her BSc in Physiology at University College Cork, Ireland.  Rita has been actively involved in student welfare as a Peer Support Leader, Laboratory Demonstrator, Public Relations Officer etc., and is keenly interested in being a voice for the Health Science students to enhance their student experience. Jasmine Tudor | Communications Officer Jasmine is from Seattle, WA, USA and earned her Bachelor's degree at the University of Washington in Business Administration and Marketing. After graduating she spent three years working in Digital Marketing. She currently is a Digital Marketing consultant for small businesses, startups and individual contractors and attending Trinity to earn her M.Sc. in Interactive Digital Media.
